Women's Center
The Women’s Center works to dismantle gender oppression through prevention, education, and advocacy;​ support undergraduate and graduate students, staff, and faculty who experience sexism, gender-based violence, discrimination, and/or harassment;​ center the experiences of women and gender-expansive people; and ​celebrate all of the ways gender is lived and expressed​ through an anti-racist and culturally affirming feminist practice.​ Stop by to meet members of our student staff who can share information about the Women’s Center’s programs and events, how we support students, and opportunities for engagement with the Center.  Answer a question for the chance to win Women’s Center swag.

UConn Police Department
Our community outreach unit provides various educational safety programs to the UConn students, staff, and faculty.  The community outreach unit also has 2 facility dogs that are available to support and provide assistance to our UConn students.  Both dogs increase the connection between the UConn Police and UConn communities, creating more opportunities for positive relationship building and trust.  We will provide information about our self-defense and team-building programs, along with a few giveaways (stress donuts, pens, cell-phone stands).

Experiential Global Learning
Experiential Global Learning offers abroad, domestic, and virtual academic opportunities to undergraduate UConn students in all majors! Our programs take place throughout the fall and spring terms, academic year, summer, winter and spring break! We encourage students to start the process early and chat with EGL about the opportunities and experiences available to them. Visit egl.uconn.edu for more information.

Center for Career Development
Come learn about the ways the Center for Career Development can provide support within your/your student’s career journey. From career and major exploration and the job, internship or graduate school search to creating a resume and preparing for interviews, ask whatever questions you may have about career or our resources.

Air Force ROTC
The Air Force ROTC program and Aerospace Studies Department is active on campus, our table will include information on our program and will give people the chance to speak with UConn cadets about their experiences in ROTC and taking Aerospace Studies courses.

Center for Students with Disabilities - Beyond Access
Beyond Access teaches students how to work smarter, not harder in a competitive academic environment while preparing for life after college. Participants work toward their personalized goals during one to three hours of weekly meetings with a Strategy Instructor over the course of the semester. Strategy Instructors develop individualized supports to promote development of academic, executive function, social engagement, and career development skills. In addition, Strategy Instructors connect students to UConn resources across campus and provide holistic support to promote student growth and well-being.

Hike the HEEP with the Office of Sustainability

Time: 11:00 am – 12:00 pm
Location: Hillside Environmental Education Park - Innovation Building Trailhead

Take a hike in the HEEP (Hillside Environmental Education Park) with the UConn Office of Sustainability. Get to know the peaceful trails and learn about how this area spurred UConn's commitment to sustainability. The hike will be about 1 mile on mostly flat but uneven terrain. Bring your sneakers or hiking boots. Hike will be lead by OS staff and our team of super star undergraduate interns. Limited parking is available at the Innovation Building, or you can take a shuttle. Hiking group will depart promptly at 11am. African American Cultural Center Open House

Library Open House & Scavenger Hunt

The UConn Library welcomes UConn students and their families to meet library staff and learn about the ways we holistically support student success. Check out our loanables, hear about our resources and services, and learn ways to get help with research. William Benton Museum of Art

Time: 11:00 am – 4:00 pm

The William Benton Museum of Art is Connecticut’s state art museum with a collection of more than 7.000 works dating from the 15th to the 21st centuries. The museum annually presents 10-12 exhibitions of art from its collection and from loaned works. Lectures, gallery talks, salon discussions, campus art walks, musical performances, and drawing sessions are among the museum’s popular programs.
This weekend, enjoy art and do a fun scavenger hunt in the galleries and chalk drawing on the patio. If it is a nice day, enjoy UConn's outdoor sculptures on self guided walks.

Ballard Institute and Museum of Puppetry

Time: 11:00 am – 7:00 pm

The Ballard Institute and Museum of Puppetry is one of America’s hidden treasures—a superb collection of over 3,500 puppets from all over the world; an archive of books, manuscripts, posters, drawings, audio-visual materials, and photographs all covering the history of puppetry. We encourage you to stop by and see all of our treasures.

The current exhibit at the Ballard Institute and Museum of Puppetry is Tradition and Revolution in Indian Shadow Puppetry, curated by puppeteer and UConn graduate student Rahul Koonathara.  The exhibit celebrates the spectacular South Indian shadow puppet traditions of Tolu Bommalatta and Tholpavakoothu, as well as recent innovations reflecting the changing nature of the form.

Free tours of the Museum of Puppetry will be offered at 12:00 pm, 2:00 pm, and 4:00 pm.

Performances of Puppets En Pointe, featuring ballet themed pieces in multiple puppetry mediums by UConn student Carrie Fowler, will be held at 1:00 pm, 3:00 pm, and 5:00 pm.

Dairy Bar

Student Performance Showcase

While you enjoy your meal from UConn Catering at the Family Weekend BBQ, grab a seat and watch some of UConn’s best and brightest student performance groups showcase their talents! Performance will be held on the Terrace of the Student Union. Tables and chairs will be available for families.

J. Robert Donnelly Husky Heritage Sports Museum

Located in the UConn Alumni Center, this museum is the ultimate destination for both long-time fans of the school and first-time visitors. The growth and development of Connecticut athletics is traced via text, photographs and select artifacts from its humble beginnings in the 1890s to its present day ranking among the elite major college athletic programs in the nation. Let the sights and sounds of more than a century of intercollegiate athletics competition come alive during your visit, and make sure to see the 2023 NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship trophy.

OPIM Innovate: Robots, 3D Printing, and More

Doug Bernstein Game Room - Free Play

Historical Walking Tour of Campus with UConn Historical Society

Join the UConn Historical Society for our second annual walking tour of UConn's campus! Learn about some of the oldest buildings at our University and the interesting history that they hold. The guided tour will be under an hour and include QR codes for archival photos of each building.

Cornhole Tournament

Compete against other UConn families in everyone's favorite lawn game, cornhole!  Sign ups will be held in-person on the Student Union Lawn beginning at 1:00 pm.  Families will have the opportunity to play in at least two cornhole matches with the winning teams moving onto a winner's tournament in the late afternoon.  The winning team wins $100 to the UConn Bookstore!

UConn Choirs - Family Weekend Concert

Hypnotist Jim Spinnato

Jim Spinnato and his amazing combination of comedy, hypnosis, and audience participation can be seen throughout New England.  Jim has performed recently at Comix Comedy Club, Mohegan Sun Casino, Foxwoods Casino, Six Flags New England, and countless colleges and universities. Come and watch as volunteers from the audience release their comedic abilities, all while under the influence of hypnosis!

Magician/Comedian Justin Willman - Family Weekend Special Event

In his Netflix series Magic for Humans with Justin Willman, he brings his skills as a magician to the strange and misunderstood subcultures of America, while incorporating his disarming demeanor into street magic and social experiments that will boggle the mind. Indiewire called Willman the “perfect magician/hybrid prototype with incredible comedic timing,” and the L.A.
