Breakfast on Your Own

Time: 7:00 am – 10:30 am

Family Weekend Information & Check-In

Time: 9:00 am – 4:00 pm
Location: Outside of the Student Union

Upon your arrival to Family Weekend, stop by Family Weekend Check-In, located outside of the north and south entrances of the Student Union. There will be signage across campus pointing towards Check-In. When you visit Family Weekend Check-In, your family will receive information about the events planned, a campus map, a coupon to the UConn Bookstore, and more!  Families that purchased admission to the Specialty Meals (Saturday BBQ and/or Sunday Brunch) must stop by to pick up their tickets/wristbands to the meal(s).  Families that did not purchase admission to the Specialty Meals are not required to visit Family Weekend Check-In.

Celebrate Your UConn Family: Annual Legacy Breakfast

Does your family bleed blue? If you're an alumni parent, grandparent, and/or sibling with a current student attending UConn, we consider your family a UConn legacy family. Marching Band Performance

Time: 11:00 am – 12:00 pm
Location: Jorgensen Center for the Performing Arts

"The Pride of Connecticut" invites you to come on down to Jorgensen to witness an all-encompassing performance by the University of Connecticut Marching Band! Join us for an afternoon of music and school spirit with the UConn Fight Song, Fight On Connecticut, and more. We will also feature selections from this year’s field show, “UCMB Unsung”, which spans a wide variety of genres, including music from My Chemical Romance, Attack on Titan, and Wicked. This is a free event, no tickets required. We hope to see you there!

Hike the HEEP with the Office of Sustainability

Time: 11:00 am – 12:00 pm
Location: Hillside Environmental Education Park - Innovation Building Trailhead

Take a hike in the HEEP (Hillside Environmental Education Park) with the UConn Office of Sustainability. Get to know the peaceful trails and learn about how this area spurred UConn's commitment to sustainability. The hike will be about 1 mile on mostly flat but uneven terrain. Bring your sneakers or hiking boots. Hike will be lead by OS staff and our team of super star undergraduate interns. Parking is available at the Innovation Building, Lot K, or you can take a shuttle. African American Cultural Center Open House

Welcome to the H. Fred Simons African American Cultural Center (AACC), the first cultural center established at UConn. Center for Career Development Open House

The Center for Career Development would like to welcome UConn students and their families to join us for Family Weekend festivities and learn more about how we help students become Career Ready! William Benton Museum of Art

Time: 11:00 am – 4:00 pm
Location: 245 Glenbrook Road

The William Benton Museum of Art is Connecticut’s state art museum with a collection of more than 7,000 works dating from the 15th to the 21st centuries. The museum annually presents 10-12 exhibitions of art from its collection and from loaned works. Lectures, gallery talks, salon discussions, campus art walks, musical performances, and drawing sessions are among the museum’s popular programs. In addition to the exhibits in the museum, check out UConn's collection of campus art and sculptures through the Benton's self-guided walking tour.

Ballard Institute and Museum of Puppetry

The Ballard Institute and Museum of Puppetry is one of America’s hidden treasures—a superb collection of over 3,500 puppets from all over the world; an archive of books, manuscripts, posters, drawings, audio-visual materials, and photographs all covering the history of puppetry. We encourage you to stop by and see all of our treasures.

Additionally, join us for FREE fall community puppet-building workshops to design and build life-size and over-life-size puppets for a new pageant production—The Conference of the Birds—to be performed at the Celebrate Mansfield Festival in Downtown Storrs. J. Robert Donnelly Husky Heritage Sports Museum

Time: 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm
Location: UConn Alumni Center, 2384 Alumni Drive

Located in the UConn Alumni Center, this museum is the ultimate destination for both long-time fans of the school and first-time visitors. The growth and development of Connecticut athletics is traced via text, photographs and select artifacts from its humble beginnings in the 1890s to its present day ranking among the elite major college athletic programs in the nation. Let the sights and sounds of more than a century of intercollegiate athletics competition come alive during your visit, and make sure to see the 2023 & 2024 NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship trophies.

Doug Bernstein Game Room

Located in the Student Union off of Union Street, the Doug Bernstein Game Room is one of the best places on campus to relax.  Stop by with the family to play air hockey, pool, ping pong, video games, arcade games, and more! The Game Room will be free to UConn students and their families during Family Weekend.

Expert Voices: Faculty Series

Time: 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm
Location: Student Union Theatre

Join us for a TED Talk-style event featuring six of UConn's most notable faculty members. Discover how our faculty are pushing the boundaries of knowledge in their respective fields and learn how you can get involved in their groundbreaking research projects. Botanical Conservatory Tours

Time: 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

The UConn Botanical Conservatory has the largest and most diverse collection of plants at an academic institution in the Northeast, and one of the top three most diverse university greenhouse facilities in the country.  With over 2,700 species in about 10,000 square feet, the Conservatory Collection is a living library of extraordinary scientific, conservation and educational value.  An estimated 60% of all UConn students utilize and visit the Conservatory for classes and it provides profound, immersive learning opportunities for both students and residents of Connecticut.  It is a place to unwind, explore, and immerse yourself in the incredible biodiversity the Collection offers.

Muslim Family Day

Asian American Cultural Center (AsACC) Open House

Be sure to stop by the Asian American Cultural Center (AsACC) during this year’s Family Weekend. Take a tour of the center, share a snack with us, and see what the center has to offer. After spending some time with us you will quickly see why students call AsACC their home away from home. Learn about AsACC’s history, mentoring programs, annual events, and the services provided. Storrs Farmers Market

Location: Mansfield Town Hall, 4 South Eagleville Road

Come visit the friendly farmers and skilled artisans of the Storrs Farmers Market who have been serving up the area's favorite local foods for over 25 years! Visitors can expect to find a wide assortment of fall fruits & vegetables, freshly baked goods and other prepared foods, honey & maple syrup, pasture-raised meats & eggs, and more. Open rain or shine on the lawn in front of Mansfield Town Hall, across from Price Chopper.

Women's Volleyball vs. Albany

Time: 3:30 pm
Location: Volleyball Center

Cheer on UConn Volleyball during the Dog Pound Challenge at the UConn Volleyball Center! UConn will face off against Delaware State, UAlbany, and Dartmouth throughout this weekend tournament. Magician Hayden Childress

Time: 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm
Location: Student Union Theatre

Hayden Childress is a professional magician and mentalist based out of New York City. Hayden combines sleight of hand and psychology together into an incredible, original, and thought provoking show. Hayden combines retro, analog props with clever commentary on modern life into a fun, interactive performance that both magic fans and skeptics love!

Hayden has been featured on TV shows such as Penn and Teller: Fool Us on the CW and has been a guest performer for organizations such as Google, the Super Bowl, and Gatorade.

Walk-up event, no tickets needed.  Space is limited.

Student Performance Showcase

Family Weekend Food Truck Rally

Time: 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Location: Fairfield Way

Storrs and the surrounding areas are home to numerous fantastic food trucks. Get a chance to try them out at the new Family Weekend Food Truck Rally! In addition to the UConn Food Truck, Food for the Pack, and the UConn Ice Cream Truck, there will be a variety of local food vendors selling their most notable dishes. No advanced purchases are required.  Both of the UConn trucks ONLY accept credit card payment, no cash!

In addition to the local food trucks providing food service until 8:00 pm, UConn Catering will be operating a bar serving beer and wine from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm for those in attendance that are 21+ years of age.  The bar will be located under the large tent on the lawn behind the Student Union.

UConn Football vs. Duke Watch Party

Time: 6:00 pm
Location: Tent on the Student Union Lawn

Come together with fellow fans, family, and friends to cheer on the Huskies as they take on the Duke Blue Devils. The game kicks off at 6:00 pm, but the fun begins early with pre-game festivities, including food, music, and lawn games for all ages.  In addition to the local food trucks providing food service until 8:00 pm, UConn Catering will be operating a bar serving beer and wine from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm for those in attendance that are 21+ years of age.

Comedian Colin Jost - Family Weekend Special Event

The Colin Jost comedy show has SOLD OUT!

Writer, performer, and author Colin Jost is best known for his work on the long-running comedy show, Saturday Night Live. Over his nearly two decades writing for SNL, and as current longtime co-anchor of the popular segment Weekend Update, Jost has won five Writers Guild Awards, two Peabody Awards and has been nominated for 14 Emmy Awards. A graduate of Harvard University, Jost has been published multiple times in The New Yorker. His memoir, A Very Punchable Face, is a New York Times bestseller and has received copious critical acclaim. He most recently headlined the 2024 White House Correspondents Dinner. Questions?
