Celebrate Your UConn Family: Annual Legacy Breakfast

Time: Two Seatings - 8:30 am OR 10:45 am
Location: Alumni Center Great Hall

Does your family bleed blue? If you're an alumni parent, grandparent, and/or sibling with a current student attending UConn, we consider your family a UConn legacy family. You're invited to celebrate your legacy together at our annual Family Weekend breakfast and pinning ceremony. Registration required: register for our 8:30am seating or 10:45am seating. Questions? Family Weekend Check-In

Time: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
Location: Student Union Room 304

Upon your arrival to Family Weekend, stop by Family Weekend Check-In, located in the Student Union. There will be signage across campus pointing towards Check-In. When you visit Family Weekend Check-In, your family will receive copies of the official Family Weekend schedule, important information about the events planned, campus maps, and more!

Family Lounge

Time: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
Location: Student Union Room 104

Take a break from the Family Weekend events and activities for some quiet time with the family. Board games and other relaxing activities will be available all day.

Future Nurses for DEI Art Exhibition

Time: 9:00 am – 9:00 pm
Location: Student Union Room 310

Future Nurses for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (FNDEI) is collaborating with local artists to celebrate the Women's Center and PRLACC's 50th anniversaries.  This art exhibition is a fundraiser.  All proceeds will be allocated to scholarships for minority nursing students.

Family Bagel Breakfast

National Make a Difference Day

Time: 10:00 am – 12:00 pm
Location: Community Outreach, Student Union Room 203

Join Community Outreach and Jumpstart, a national early childhood literacy program, to make literacy kits for Read for the Record. Literacy kits include a book and a craft/activity that will be distributed to local preschool students to add to their home libraries.

Earth Science Fair

Time: 10:00 am – 2:00 pm
Location: Beach Hall and the Founders Green

Come enjoy learning about the world around you! Visit with UConn Geoscience faculty and students to learn about their research and a variety of Earth Science topics. Activities include rock and fossil identification, break open a geode, live drone demonstrations, dig for fossils, learn about Connecticut geology, and much more!

African American Cultural Center Open House

Time: 11:00 am – 1:00 pm
Location: AACC, Student Union Room 407

The H. Fred Simons African American Cultural Center will be hosting an open house for all students and their families! Learn about the history of the Center and be informed about the many student organizations and events sponsored by the Center. You will have the opportunity to meet with a diverse group of our student staff and student leaders. We look forward to welcoming you to the AACC!

Hike the HEEP with the Office of Sustainability

Time: 11:00 am – 12:30 pm
Location: Hillside Environmental Education Park - Innovation Building Trailhead

Take a hike in the HEEP (Hillside Environmental Education Park) with the UConn Office of Sustainability. Get to know the peaceful trails and learn about how this area spurred UConn's commitment to sustainability. The hike will be about 1 mile on mostly flat but uneven terrain. Bring your sneakers or hiking boots. Hike will be lead by OS staff and our team of super star undergraduate interns. Limited parking is available at the Innovation Building, or you can take a shuttle. Hiking group will depart promptly at 11am. Family Weekend Food Truck Rally

Time: 11:00 am – 2:00 pm
Location: Fairfield Way

Hartford and the surrounding areas are home to numerous fantastic food trucks. Get a chance to try them out at the new Family Weekend Food Truck Rally! In addition to the UConn Food Truck, Food for the Pack, and the UConn Ice Cream Truck, there will be a variety of local food vendors selling their most notable dishes. No advanced purchases are required.  Both of the UConn trucks ONLY accept credit card payment, no cash!

Student Performance Showcase

Time: 11:00 am – 2:00 pm
Location: Student Union Terrace

While you enjoy your meal from the best local food trucks, grab a seat and watch some of UConn’s best and brightest student performance groups showcase their talents! Performance will be held on the back Terrace of the Student Union. Tables and chairs will be available for families.

Center for Career Development Open House

The Center for Career Development would like to welcome UConn students and their families to join us for Family Weekend festivities and learn more about how we help students become Career Ready! We invite you to to join us for some resource demonstrations, tour our offices, and meet some of our staff. Giveaways and light refreshments will be provided.

Air Force ROTC Information Table

UConn Air Force ROTC welcomes students and their families who have any questions about our program on campus. We will have Air Force personnel and student cadets available to talk to you about the student experience and answer any questions you may have. Please stop by and say hi!

UConn Library Open House & Scavenger Hunt

The UConn Library welcomes UConn students and their families to meet library staff and learn about the ways we holistically support student success. Check out our loanables, hear about our resources and services, and learn ways to get help with research. William Benton Museum of Art

The William Benton Museum of Art is Connecticut’s state art museum with a collection of more than 6,500 works dating from the 15th to the 21st centuries. The museum annually presents 10-12 exhibitions of art from its collection and from loaned works. Lectures, gallery talks, salon discussions, campus art walks, musical performances, and drawing sessions are among the museum’s popular programs. In addition to the exhibits in the museum, check out UConn's collection of campus art and sculptures through the Benton's self-guided walking scavenger hunt.

Ballard Institute and Museum of Puppetry

The Ballard Institute and Museum of Puppetry is one of America’s hidden treasures—a superb collection of over 3,500 puppets from all over the world; an archive of books, manuscripts, posters, drawings, audio-visual materials, and photographs all covering the history of puppetry. We encourage you to stop by and see all of our treasures.

Free tours of the Museum of Puppetry will be offered at 12:00 pm, 2:00 pm, and 4:00 pm.

UConn Choirs - Family Weekend Concert

Dramatic Arts Sophomore BFA Performance - Failure: A Love Story

Join the Department of Dramatic Arts Sophomore BFA Acting class for a free performance of Failure: A Love Story by Philip Dawkins, directed by Sandi Carroll.

Failure: A Love Story: a comedy about the tragic tale of the three Fail Sisters who all die in the same year. Utilizing shadows, live music and movement, the show is a collaboration between UConn Acting, Music and Puppet Arts Students. Run time: 1 hour. FREE ADMISSION.

Comedy & Stunt Show featuring Matt Baker

Matt Baker’s Comedy & Stunt Show is a whole new level of awesome! It would be selling him short to label him just a stand-up comedian. What other comedian holds five Guinness World Records? Awesome, right? The judges on Americas Got Talent agreed. Sharon Osbourne called him “hilarious” and Piers Morgan described him as “hip, funny and well-choreographed; the total package!” His unique show has been seen on Last Comic Standing, Comedy Central, James Corden and in over 19 different countries. Matt engages the crowd and will keep you laughing all while performing one of a kind stunts like catching a bowling ball on his head, spearing vegetables with eating utensils, and escaping handcuffs.
