Upon your arrival to Family Weekend, stop by Family Weekend Check-In, located in the Student Union.  There will be signage across campus pointing towards Check-In.  When you visit Family Weekend Check-In, your family will receive copies of the official Family Weekend schedule, important information about the events planned and a campus map.

The Ballard Institute and Museum of Puppetry is one of America’s hidden treasures—a superb collection of over 2,500 puppets from all over the world; an archive of books, manuscripts, posters, drawings, audio-visual materials and photographs all covering the history of puppetry.  We encourage you to stop by and see all of our treasures.

Hands-on science and cool experiments await!  The Office of Alumni Relations in the UConn Foundation has traded the cocktails and conversations at their traditional Science Salon program for cool, kid-friendly experiments at their first Science Salon Junior event!  For kids ages 5-12, they are invited to join UConn faculty and students for an afternoon of STEM fun!  This program is FREE and every young scientist will receive a complimentary Science Salon Junior apron.  Please register by Monday, October 2nd by clicking the link in the title of this program.

1:00 pm – 4:30 pm William Benton Museum of Art
The Benton is Connecticut’s state art museum with a collection of more than 6,500 works dating from the 15th to the 21st centuries. The museum annually presents 10-12 exhibitions of art from its own collection as well borrowed works and special exhibits of art department faculty and MFA students. Lectures, gallery talks, forum discussions, campus art walks, musical performances, and drawing sessions are among the museum’s popular programs.
